Tristan Thompson appeared to threaten his alleged mother, Maralee Nichols, to drop her paternity lawsuit against him in exchange for $ 75,000, saying she wouldn’t see as much money if he was ordered to pay child support for children.
In a text allegedly sent by the Sacramento Kings player to the personal trainer, obtained by Page Six on a legal file, Thompson urged Nichols to take the money he was offering because she would get much less under the Texas law.
“You know how I feel. My feelings haven’t changed at all. Won’t be involved at all. By the way, if you think having that baby is going to make you money. That’s completely wrong.” , we read in the message.
Thompson then allegedly claimed he intended to hang up his NBA sneakers in 2022.
” Do you know that I am retiring after this season», Continues the text. âSo in terms of support, that will be all that is required on a monthly basis for an unemployed person. It’s in Texas so it’s only going to be a few hundred dollars. So you better take these 75k I’m giving you because you won’t have anything quite as close to having a child with an unemployed dad.
Nichols’ attorney argued in the case that Thompson intentionally filed his lawsuit in Texas to “save” money on child support. However, Nichols resides in California and his child, due on December 3, will also be born in the Golden State; Texas law would have no jurisdiction over the child support decision, according to the filing.
Thompson, who shares 3-year-old daughter True with ex Khloé Kardashian and 4-year-old son Prince with ex Jordan Craig, reportedly concluded the post by informing Nichols that all she would have “is a baby.” with a father who has zero with the child and a few hundred dollars in child support a month.
Nichols’ attorney declined to comment. Thompson’s lawyers did not respond to our numerous requests for comment.
As Page Six exclusively reported, Thompson allegedly wanted Nichols to have an abortion when she found out she was pregnant. He also demanded in July that she take a paternity test. As of November 15, she had not passed a test, but in a later case he said he would pay child support if the child was his. Another file says genetic testing can only be done after the baby is born.
The baby was reportedly conceived on Thompson’s 30th birthday, while still dating Kardashian. Page Six announced in July that the former Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 37, and Thompson had broken up again.
