MONROVIA – A lady identified as Anita Davis accused Sienna Ayo Marsh, an employee of Court “A”, of fraudulently divorcing her and her “husband” of which she was not aware.
According to her, on May 14, 2016, a lady from the Criminal Court âCâ came to her home and presented her with a letter of consent for a divorce, from her âhusbandâ.
According to her, she was not aware of the consent and therefore did not sign it.
She added that to her surprise in 2019, at an uncle’s funeral, her older brother presented her with a copy of the divorce certificate stating that she and her husband were no longer married.
She said she sent a copy of the divorce certificate to her lawyer, Cllr. Jimmy Bombo who confronted a lawyer named Gabriel Natt, but the lawyer denied being aware of any divorce proceedings between the two.
In order to dispel doubt, Atty Natt then cited a conference with husband Darlington and court staff who previously presented him with a consent letter in 2014, but they both did not show up.
In May 2021, her “husband” married another woman at a church in Kebbah, Barnersville, and she went to confront the pastor who officiated the wedding in June.
The pastor asked for proof of marriage where she presented the marriage certificate. The lady then asked to see Darlington who is believed to be her husband.
In 2017, she filed a lawsuit against her “husband”. He was charged with bigamy, persistent non-assistance and theft of property, but he escaped, she said.
She further explained that her signature was forged and that she had no idea how and when the divorce took place.
In an exclusive interview with court staff, Marsh admitted to escorting a sheriff to Anita’s house, but it was at the behest of her “husband.”
According to Marsh, Darlington came to her house and told her he wanted a divorce. According to her, she took him to civil court with a certain Jayah who is now late.
She further explains that when the summons was prepared, she was asked to locate Anita’s house with the sheriff.
She said that during the process, Darlington called her and informed her that Anita was in court to sign the consent paper.
She added that once the divorce paper was ready, Darlington called her to collect the divorce certificate on her behalf.
According to court staff, the now scandalous lady picked up her divorce certificate from the court where she voluntarily signed it.
However, the lawyer whose signature is on the document vehemently denied being aware of it, adding that his signature was forged.
Atty. Natt threatened to take legal action against court staff who “clandestinely” used his name and signature to carry out an illegal act of divorce.
