Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock have finalized their divorce from the singer and talk show host by agreeing to a one-time, tax-free payment of $1,326,161 million, plus monthly child support, documents show. legal proceedings obtained by The Blast.
Clarkson will have to provide $45,601 in monthly child support for their two children, River Rose and Remington Alexander. Blackstone will receive $115,000 from Clarkson in spousal support per month until January 31, 2024. He was originally seeking $2.35 million per year, split between monthly payments of $150,000 in spousal support and $45,601 in child support.
They agreed to joint custody of their children, who will receive the COVID-19 vaccine since River and Remington would have to split time between their parents’ respective homes in two different states. Until they are fully vaccinated, Clarkson will provide Blackstock with $50,000 as “reimbursement” for the use of a private plane. After receiving their vaccinations, they will upgrade to flying in first class.
The two Montana homes have been awarded to Clarkson, but Blackstock will live in one of them until June and will have to pay his ex-wife $2,000 a month in rent. She will guard the family’s pets while he scavenges “livestock from the farm, cattle, herding dogs and horses.” They will each claim their own set of cars, but he will keep his “golf simulator and a few Patek Philippe watches”.
Clarkson filed for divorce in June 2020, citing tried and true “irreconcilable differences.” The two had been married for seven years. Last month, she filed an application to legally change her name to Kelly Brianne, first name and middle name. The singer explained in her petition that “my new name better reflects who I am.” A hearing for the name change has been set for March 28.
