How much will Tristan Thompson pay Maralee Nichols in child support?

nba star Tristan Thompsonrecently suffered a significant loss in his paternity case, as the judge presiding over the case dismissed his case in Texas regarding his baby mama, Maralee Nichols.

According to We Weekly, Thompson and Nichols presented their case in a virtual hearing. In June, Nichols filed a lawsuit against the star, and a month later he hit back with his Texas filing.

“Regardless of whether an act of conception occurred in Texas that could have led to the conception of the child, they would have had a long relationship spanning multiple states,” a source told the outlet regarding the Wednesday hearing. “The child was born in California, the mother resides there, as does Tristan. It would make sense for the judge to reject this given the facts and the California lawsuit filed before the Texas one.

He admitted to impregnating Nichols

The star shared on Instagram that he was the father of Nichol’s baby according to a paternity test.

“Today paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols,” Thompson began. “I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity is established; I look forward to raising our son amicably.

Thompson also apologized to her ex, Khloé Kardashian, after they broke up for about a year.

“Khloé, you don’t deserve this,” the NBA star began. “You don’t deserve the grief and humiliation I caused you. You don’t deserve the way I’ve treated you over the years. My actions certainly don’t match the way I see you. I have the greatest respect and love for you. It doesn’t matter what you think. Again, I’m incredibly sorry.

This makes the athlete a father of three children. His first child, Prince, was born in 2016 to his ex-girlfriend, Jordan Craig. He also shares a 3-year-old daughter, True, with Khloé.

Thompson will most likely pay around $40,000 in child support

Due to his success as an athlete and his net worth of approximately $45 million, Thompson would likely pay a lot in child support. However, it has been reported that he spends around $40,000 a month on his son, Prince.

“Because Tristan is paying child support for other children, that will be a factor in determining how much child support he will pay for that child,” attorney Morghan Richardson explained to Hollywood life. “Reports show his income is around $10 million, so based on that figure and the report that he pays $40,000 a month for his son when I run the calculator, I get an estimate of $34,000. Per month.”

The lawyer also noted that the court would also consider other things outside of its finances, although the information used is not publicly known.

“In considering child support, the court will look at the monthly incomes of both parents and the amount of time the child spends with each parent,” Richardson explained. “All income including cash/salaries, tips, commissions, bonuses, unemployment benefits, interest income, dividend income, rental income, insurance payments – this is all fair game for calculating child support. For awards where the parties earn extremely high incomes, such as Tristan, the court will enter the numbers into the support calculator and consider several other factors. An argument for a larger award would be to ensure that the child has the same or similar lifestyle in both households.

His previous commitment

Before that, Thompson previously offered to pay Nichols $75,000 in lieu of child support in a series of posts.

“My feelings haven’t changed at all. I will not be involved at all. By the way, if you think having this baby is going to make you money. It is completely false. You know I’m retiring after this season. So in terms of support, this will be all that is needed monthly for an unemployed person. This is Texas so it will only be a couple hundred dollars,” the posts reportedly read.

“So you better take that 75,000 I’m offering you because you’re not gonna get anything close if you have a kid with an unemployed dad. All you’ll get is a baby with a dad who has no involvement with the child and a few hundred dollars in child support a month.

Khloe’s reaction

As revealed by an inside source, the “KUWTK” star said she was “deeply shocked” when she heard the news of her ex’s infidelity scandal.

“It wasn’t Tristan who told him; these are the social media posts that his team was walking away before the story was published,” the insider began. “Khloé may be saying now that they’ve been broken up since the spring, but that’s not all. She had given Tristan ‘one last chance’ – he was in therapy and staying single and out of trouble, and then they were going see where they were.

The source also added that her family was devastated by the embarrassment. They were also unhappy with Khloé’s previous resolve to get back together with him.
