BRITNEY Spears’ brother Bryan “owes thousands in child support” to his ex-wife as the pop star accuses his family of mismanaging their money, The Sun can exclusively reveal.
In March 2021, Garciella submitted a petition obtained by The Sun to collect “current, medical and unpaid child support” from her ex.
According to court documents, a judge ordered Bryan, 44, to pay just $ 300 per month for basic child support that began on August 1, 2016.
The judge ruled on this amount based on the native of Louisiana reported monthly income of $ 6,375.
After adding up all the monthly payments over the past five years, the child support owed for their 10-year-old daughter, Sophia, would total more than $ 20,000.
However, legal documents filed earlier this year claimed Garciella still had not received the full amount ordered.
While it is possible that Bryan paid the amount in the months that followed, none of the legal documents filed for the case indicated that the child support payments had been made.
Bryan is also responsible for paying for all of their daughter’s medical, dental and hospital insurance.
The documents show that Garciella has physical custody of their daughter, Sophia, but they share joint legal custody.
Talent manager Garciella married Bryan in 2008 – the same year Britney was placed under guardianship by their father, Jamie spears.
They separated in 2015 and her initial divorce application was rejected, but it was approved by Los Angeles court in February 2017.
A representative for Bryan did not respond to The Sun’s request for comment.
These last weeks, Britney, 39, and his lawyer Matthieu Rosengart slammed her the mismanagement of his money by the father while also calling her current net worth “shockingly low” compared to her huge gains over the years.
“AMAZING LOW” NET VALUE
“Ms. Spears’ net worth is shockingly low and while no one knows what she would have done had she been in control of her destiny and fortune, it’s hard to imagine how she would have done any worse. than his ex-father, ”we read in court documents.
According to legal documentsBritney’s net worth is around $ 57 million, which is significantly lower than her fellow musicians who have sold even fewer albums or toured fewer than her.
The documents also criticize Jamie’s bankruptcy in 1998 and highlight his past problems with money management.
A source familiar with the matter told The Sun that “the intention to hire third-party CPA Jason Rubin for Britney” is not only to manage her money, but “to investigate her finances as well.”
“She’s made millions which her attorney says are nowhere to be found and Britney doesn’t know where it went,” the insider said.
The informant explains: “The team of opposing lawyers did not answer many questions on this subject either.
“If his money has been stolen or used illegally, Jason will look into who is responsible and where the money went.”
JAMIE GET DOWN
The legal expert then added that even in a guardianship, “the curator cannot use the curator’s bank account as an ATM.”
In June last year, Bryan – who rarely speaks in public – revealed that his younger sister “always wanted” to get out of wardship.
The film producer told As not seen on TV Podcast: “[Britney’s] always wanted to get out of [the conservatorship]. It’s very frustrating to have.
“Whether someone comes in peace to help or with an attitude, having someone constantly telling you to do something must be frustrating,” he added.
