‘American Pickers’ star Frank Fritz in conservatorship after stroke

Back in July American Pickers Star Mike Wolfe has revealed his former co-star Frank Fritz suffered a stroke.

I’ve been very private over the past year about Frank’s life and his journey. There have been a lot of opinions about my and Frank’s friendship and the show, but now is not the time to set the record straight. Now is the time to pray for my friend,” Mike wrote. “Frank suffered a stroke and is in the hospital. Please keep him in your hearts and thoughts. Frank, I’m praying more than anything that you’re okay. I love you mate.”

American Pickers premiered on the History Channel in 2010 and followed Fritz and Wolfe around the country as they searched for antiques and collectibles. The show aired for 22 seasons with Fritz’s final episode airing in March 2020. The History Channel announced his official departure from the show in July 2021. Following Fritz’s exit, Wolfe released a statement wishing good luck to his friend.

“I have known Frank for as long as I can remember, he has been like a brother to me,” Mike Wolfe said in a statement. “The journey that Frank, Dani (Danielle) and I began in 2009, like all of life, has come with its ups and downs, its blessings and its challenges, but it has also been the most rewarding. I will miss Frank , like all of you, and I pray for the best and all good things for him in the next part of his journey.

Fritz’s departure from American Pickers was blamed on a rift between him and Mike Wolfe that coincided with the pandemic. In July 2021, Fritz said The sun, “I haven’t spoken to Mike in two years. He knew I had back pain, but he didn’t call me to ask how I was. It’s like that.

Later in July, he shared an update with The sun saying he would go to an alcohol abuse rehabilitation center after being fired from American Pickers. He also shared that he hoped to return to the show, but the History channel “didn’t give him a definitive answer.”

A month after his stroke, a longtime friend of Fritz’s filed for guardianship of the former American Pickers star finances.

“Because of his stroke, Mr. Fritz’s decision-making ability is so impaired that he is unable to look after his own safety or provide for necessities such as food, shelter, clothing or supplies. medical care,” the petition reads in the application for guardianship. His friend states that Fritz is “unable to make, communicate, or execute major decisions regarding his own financial affairs.”

The guardianship “is necessary to avoid immediate harm,” the friend said in the filing.

According to Monks Registerguardianship has just been approved.

“There are sufficient allegations to warrant the appointment of an emergency guardian and conservator, including a letter from the protected party’s physician stating that he is unable to make decisions on his own,” wrote the Judge Henry Latham, approving the conservatorship.

We wish Frank the best during his recovery.
